Antique Christmas in New Jersey - a private collection
Enter the world of antique Christmas collecting. From homes of very serious antique Christmas collectors, we present Christmas decorating from many years ago. These pieces have long lasting appeal and continue to inspire artists yet today.
Putz and bottle brush tree collection, the pink paper tree is a rare table top with
original tag from Star Brite.
Decorated with early German ornaments.
Putz village is surrounded by cake toppers from England.

Small display case contains many unique treasures, including fairy lights,
bisque Santa's from Germany and Japan.
The small feather tree on top which is partially seen contains a collection of
tiny German Santa and Heart ornaments.
The bubble light cover on the top is unique, it was designed to slip over a C6 bulb.

View of the living room, which held a total of 15 trees
from a large floor tree decorated with oversized vintage ornaments
to a bubble light tree decorated with wax ornaments.
The piano is covered with many German belsnickles and other vintage Santa's and Kugels.
See photo 6 for another view of the room.
In all the home was decorated with 34 Christmas trees, down from 75 in 2006.

Partial view of the den which was also packed with trees,
the coffee table has a feather tree with vintage cotton fruit;
the glass book cases contain a collection of Gurley candles.
Four table top bubble light trees sit on the cases.

Extremely rare German Chalk Santa from the 1800's.

Another view of the living room showing the rotating silver tree decorated in
striped ornaments, the other side of the room contains 2 - 3 1/2' feather trees
decorated in delicate German glass ornaments.
Resting on the couch is an unusual Santa stuffed with straw,
its face is a removable mask, I believe it is French.
The book cases are packed with all sorts of vintage items, many paper items
dating to the late 1800's early 20th century.

1910 linen Santa banner, 3 x 5 ft.
Beginning next holiday season, this will hang from one of 8 - 16' high beams
in a museum room addition being build onto the home.
It will be surrounded by other banners and vintage store window displays.

Antique Cnristmas in Missouri - a private collection

A 5 ft antique German feather tree in a magnificent German folk art stand.
You can't really see the actual trunk fitting, but it is a paper mache mountain with trees and tiny village houses on it and is attached to the fence base. It is filled with my favorite and oldest vintage/antique ornaments.
From the 1930's, a RARE 4 ft PINK feather tree decorated with
 vintage/antique ornaments in bright colors.
In the background a vintage Santa doll dressed in pink.

I have never put my kugels on a tree, they would be lost in the mix.
I like to hang mine in a wall cubby with fishing line from cup hooks.

The mantle is covered in holiday greenery over florists foam blocks.
I used wooden dowel rods inserted into the foam to place each vintage
Christmas tree topper, 45 in all, to make a stunning and colorful display.

A 4 ft two-toned feather tree displays my collection of vintage clip-on,
hanging, and nested glass bird ornaments. At the base, an antique
German twig fence with putz and nativity figures.

This is one of my favorite feather trees.
I purchased it at a yard sale for the unheard of price of $1.
It is 18" tall and lighted.

A 30" vintage two-toned feather tree in a vintage white picket fence folkart stand.
In the fence is a collection of German foil wrapped chocolate candy store
samples of angels and Santas.
My 10 ft vintage ornament tree is filled with hundreds of ornaments and surrounded by vintage toys.
Friends ask me, "Do you think you have enough Christmas?"
And of course as most Christmas collectors will agree,
My answer is, "I can never have enough Christmas!"
